I originally visited Headlands with my golden retriever, Scout, the year it opened in 2018, and returned many more times throughout his life. It’s the perfect spot to visit any season of the year – which we did.
In the summer months, we enjoyed hiking the sand dunes, frolicking on the beach, exploring the tidepools, grabbing a drink during happy hour at nearby Pelican Brewery’s outdoor patio, and ending the evening with bonfires on the beach.
The rainy winter months were just as special. We enjoyed storm-watching from our oceanfront guest room’s covered balcony, soaking in Tidepool Spa’s outdoor hot tub as Scout looked on, adventuring out for wet and windy (yet still very fun!) walks on the beach, and snuggling by the room’s cozy gas fireplace.
Traveling with my dogs has and always will be important to me because I truly consider them part of the family. I am thankful that Headlands is pet-friendly and feel honored that I am now creating new memories with my rescue dog, Archie, who loves his time there just as much as Scout did.
